| As far as main roads are concerned, there is the E125 which follows the Algarvian south coast from Vila Real de S. Antonio, in the east, all the way to Vila do Bispo in the extreme west. |
| There is also the Via do Infante (IP1) motorway which begins at Alcantarilha (near Armação de Pêra) and runs as far as Castro Marim where it becomes the E1 and takes you all the way to Seville. |
| In addition, there is a new stretch of motorway under construction which will eventually connect the Via do Infante with Sagres. In terms of railways serving the region, there is a coastal line running from Lagos to Vila Real de S. Antonio, calling at Portimão, Silves, Tunes, Albufeira, Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira, Cacela and Castro Marim, and a good many places in between. Tunes is the main railway junction connecting with the main line to Lisbon. |
